Norwegian Refugee Council does incredible work around the world. We've met their staff on the Greek islands, in Beirut and in Addis Ababa and have been impressed with their work and commitment to helping refugees lead safer lives with dignity. They work in incredibly difficult environments bringing aid to some of the most vulnerable people around the world. Currently, they are focusing on Yemen, Syria, Afghanistan, Iraq and South Sudan, but they also continue to work in 23 other countries. They provide services in a variety of sectors from shelter to education to legal aid and are also making a big effort to to pay their local staff a fair wage and achieve some degree of parity with international staff, something unfortunately rare among international NGOs.
